HOPE IN HER HONOUR
We lost an incredible Alpha Cheer Mom in May of this year to a prolonged battle with Cancer – Sarah Nichols was a dedicated and passionate member of our community, who we had the privilege of knowing for many years even preceding the founding of Alpha Cheer.
Sarah was an inspiring person and her passion for our sport, her zest for life, her strength, and her spirit are truly carried on in her daughter Laura who is a proud member of U18 L3 ‘Honour' this season. Laura brought her best to some of the biggest performances of the season at Nationals 2025 for her team, Vanguard, even through the adversity of the late stages of her mother’s illness; true Alpha strength and courage on display.
As our organization prepares to take the stage at Cheer For the Cure in a couple of weeks, we wanted to use the opportunity to honour Sarah’s legacy, her impact on our community, and carry on the fight she bravely faced for many years against this terrible illness.
The Alpha Community along with friends of Alpha, friends from the cheer community, and anyone who would like to join us in this initiative, will be coming together to donate to the Princess Margaret Foundation in Honour of Sarah, as this was the charity she selected for this purpose.
This fundraising drive was introduced at the Alpha Cheer Showcase event on November 23rd, and will carry on until the end of Dec 2025 after which the funds raised will be compiled and presented the Princess Margaret Foundation in Sarah's Honour — The first 300 individuals to donate a minimum of $5 to the cause can pickup a custom pink 'cheer bow' pin from the gym that they can wear with pride, demonstrating their support for the cause.
For those attending Cheer For the Cure on Dec. 5, 6, + 7, 2025 please wear these pins proudly - Join all of us in representing Sarah's indomitable ‘Cheer-mom’ spirit at her daughter's season debut.
